A Reading List in Western Astrology

by Hank Friedman

Important Update: I have just expanded my Western Astrology booklist and created a page on Amazon that both describes each book and allows you to easily order any of them. You can view this new listing by clicking here to see what books shaped my understanding of astrology, and even get copies for yourself.

A source of free astrology books! The Internet continues to astound me. I just discovered that you can go to Google Books -- by clicking here -- and view and download free astrology books!. Notice at the top of the page shown -- after you click on the link above -- indicates "Full view only". I chose that option because the other two options either link you to books you have to purchase or only show you short previews. If you click on any book link, you can download it as a PDF file and read it at your leisure on your own computer. What a great resource for astrologers.

Astrology, Psychology, and the Four Elements (a fine introduction to the four elements, the cornerstones of astrology, but he simplistically equates the water signs with the water houses, which is not accurate.)

Astrology, Karma, and Transformation (excellent discussion of outer transits)

both by Stephen Arroyo

Saturn: A New Look at the Old Devil (A superb book on Saturn, just don't buy her notion that houses equal signs, e.g. Saturn in the 5th = Saturn in Leo. Simply not true.)

by Liz Greene
